Why isn't my lipstick plant not blooming?
Too much water and too much direct sun (or too little) may be to blame. It likes temps of 70-80 F and high humidity. These issues plus too much nitrogen cause bud failure. So it is a bit fussy; learn how to care for lipstick plant with this article. https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/houseplants/lipstick-plant/growing-lipstick-plants.htm
It got cold so we brought it in. While inside the leaves browned. How can I get it healthy again.
Temperatures below 40 degrees F may damage or kill the palm.
It is best to leave the damaged areas until the plant has recovered.
If the areas of damage continue, it may have effected or killed the root system.
Give the plant some time to see if it can recover.

I have a young lipstick and young polka dot plant and am wondering if they are compatible together in the same soil? What soil would be best for these guys?
Unless they are stated to be direct companions then I would not do this. The reason companion plants work is that they are symbiotic. One or both provide something to each other. In this case, they will compete for the same nutrients, making this an unsuitable pair.
Both of these plants will be just fine in standard potting soil, as they are both pretty tolerant of a range of soils.

I received this plant when it was almost dead. I cut it back and it’s been growing beautifully and fast. The plant looks healthy. It’s been in the same place for almost a year, inside, at a South facing window (I’m in the northern hemisphere). The plant gets mostly direct light until about noon. I water it about once a week or a little less (through the summer). I fertilized it through the summer with 12-28-12. There’s no bugs anywhere as I’ve looked through the plant and buds. However it started budding about 3 mths ago and just before they bloom the buds fall off. I’ve probably lost about 10 so far and there’s still a lot that are cropping up along each stem. I can’t figure it out as everything else looks healthy. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you Michelle
Well you are giving it light, water and fertilizer, so I wonder if the humidity is too low. The lipstick plant is a tropical plant and is used to high humidity. You can mist it several times a week with room-temperature water in a mist bottle.

I just bought this plant this morning. have it on table between south and west window. will this work for it - will have to move it when summer is here. thanks
It needs bright light but not direct sun. Your location sounds good if the windows are not too far apart. This article will help with the care required for lipstick plants: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/houseplants/lipstick-plant/growing-lipstick-plants.htm
