it in soil during Oct? Two days ago, I purchased two Compact Drooping Leucothoe plants at a garden center. Container size is 3 inch square, and about 5 inch in height. Both plants have good foliage, about 5 to 8 inches high. The foliage is turning a red color as I live in Massachusetts and outdoor temps are cooling, especially night temperatures. Will these two plants survive indoors over the winter months, or is it more important that I plant ASAP?
As small as they are, they should do fine in the garage above freezing temperatures for the winter. Water just enough to keep them alive during the winter, every few weeks. Keep an eye on them since they are so small and prevent them from completely drying out or freezing.
