My 15 year old Key Lime Tree never flowers it has beautiful leaves but never a flower.
This article should help you with your lime tree:
My little Key lime leaves have started yellowing, and then falling off.. Can someone suggest what the problem might be? I’ve had the tree about 2 1/2 years. Right now, it’s in an 8 1/2” plastic pot which it has been in for about eight months. The roots have not started coming out the bottom. It is planted in cactus/citrus soil. I have the pot raised above the saucer, so it never sits in water. I have noticed some white fly, but not a heavy number, and I think I’ve got rid of them. The plant is indoors 24/7 in a south window. I cannot put it outside and I only have south windows.Since I’ve had it, it has given me about six limes, never more than two at once. I would hate to lose it and will appreciate any suggestions.
It looks like it needs feeding. They need feeding several times per year, and even more in container.

s.OTTE From many web sites, I've read that yellowed leaves that drop off usually means over or under watering or fertilizing. This plant was in a pot that only measured 12 3/4 inches at its upper diameter. I have now removed the plant from the noted pot, cleaned the root ball, added the appropriate new soil in a 14.5-inch diameter pot; now the plant now looks healthy with no further yellowing leaves dropping off. It appears that the EXACT reason for my plant's deterioration is that it had become "root bound" in its original pot and not because it had root rot or was over or under watered or fertilized. DO YOU AGREE WITH MY ASSESSMENT? ALTHOUGH I HAVEN'T TRIED IT, IS ACCEPTABLE TO USE MIRACLE GROW WATER SOLUBLE FERTILIZER ON A KEY LIME POTTED PLANT?
Yes, it sounds like you did the right thing. When a pot is rootbound, it can prevent the plant from taking up enough moisture, thus giving the symptoms of too little water.
You can try the Miracle Grow water soluable, but I didn't see one that had the suggested NPK ratio like the citrus fertilizers do.
acent orange tree? I have a potted Valencia orange tree 3’ away. The key lime is healthy and has been productive of key limes of standard size.
The nearby fruit tree shouldn't affect your key lime tree. Usually when off-looking fruit arises, it's because the grafted tree is producing limbs. Check your graft line. If any branches are growing below it, remove them. You should regularly check for any errant branches below the graft and promptly remove them before they reach full size.

Hi! I have a key lime tree bought in 2014 and it produces lime every year (about 4 to 7 limes per season). However, I believe that due to my mistake with pruning, the tree it's very "short" and not really full with foliage (less than 2ft) and frequently the limes touch the base. The tree grows in a pot outside, we are in Central Florida (9b zone). Is there anything I can do for the tree to grow "taller"?
Unfortunately, your photos did not come through. I am unable to see the state of the tree.
There is always a way to force a tree into a different shape. It does take patience, and doing too much at once will kill the top of the tree. This will allow the rootstock to take over.
On your tree, select a new leader. Cut away all but that one branch, a little at a time.(No more than 1/3 of the tree should be pruned off at one time, and this should be done over several months.) This branch should be growing directly upwards. You will want to keep focusing on your new leader, keeping all other growth cut, until it reaches the desired height. Then, you can prune it so that it can start branching out.

Not sure why my key lime tree hasn't ever bloomed flowers or fruit? It has grown and is green a pretty, but no limes.
