Lakeside, AZ 85929Q.Firebush – Hamelia Firebush Plants
Is this a recommended shrub for Lakeside, AZ in the White Mountains that has freezing weather in winter and 85 degrees max. in summer? Location will be in full sun. My dad was successful in Portland, ME, which has similar environment, except Portland has ocean breezes. I want to be sure. Thank you.

Certified ExpertA.You are in zone 6, it looks like. They don't really do very well outside of zones 8 to 11. I am afraid that the winter will get too cold at times. You may be able to get this to survive as a container plant, however.
