I need to trim a 30 m+ gum tree by 1/3, as it is too close to the house and spreading over the roof. Your article says now is the time to trim. What angle and what do I need to dress the cut to stop disease?
The angle is not so important, but try to leave at least a 1/4-1/2 inch stub when pruning to a junction (such as a fork where 2 branches meet or where a branch meets the trunk). You don't need to seal the wounds (it can actually harm the tree if you do), but some people like to paint the cuts with a fungicide to help prevent disease.
I have a Bloodwood gum tree. It has brown spots on the leaves and the foliage seems to me to be sparse. What can I do, please?
It sounds like your tree has a fungus. Treat the tree with a fungicide. I personally like neem oil, as it acts as both a fungicide and a pesticide.
I have a dying Gum tree, around 30 metres. It has bark damage from kangaroos. Can I do anything to save it?
Is the trunk of your tree girdled (bark missing all the way around the circumference of the tree)?
Below are some articles that will help you determine a course of treatment for your damaged bark:

We have a large Snow Gum that, for the first time (we have been here 23 years), is spraying gum resin over a wide area of our paths. What is causing this, can it be stopped and what is the best way to get rid of the VERY sticky gum all over the paths?
Your tree has an infestation and the Honeydew that is falling from the tree is actually the insects secretions.

Living in Sydney, our lemon scented gum (Eucalyptus citriodora) has recently started to drop very small white objects (like a cocoon of a very small insect). It's too tall to see what's happening up there. Do you know what is causing this?
I believe this to be from the Gum Tree Scale.

Due to yesterday's rain storm in San Diego, nearby eucalyptus trees have dropped the red gum lerps (white dots) all over our wooden deck. Can we wash them down to our plant/dirt area below the deck or can they disturb what we have there? Much easier than vacuuming since there are hundreds of square feet of the white dot lurps. Thanks, Dave
It is likely that they will not survive off of the tree, though
to be on the safe side you could treat the soil with a antibacterial soap mixture as given in the link below.
Can a very large, sixty year old gum tree be successfully treated for termites and, if so, how? I love this tree and I do not want to lose it. Thank You, Sandy
The Termites can be treated, but you will need to have the tree inspected by an expert or Arborist to determine if the tree is healthy and stable.
