put a start of a goji berry in a container last spring. grew like a weed and suddenly the lower leaves are turning brown. i fear that will continue to travel up the plant. intend to put in the ground this Fall, have religious about watering it, in full sun, in zone 5. read that fish emulsion would be an effective fertilizer in this case. should i proceed with that and/or what could be wrong with this shrub? thank you bunches, deb h.
This may be due to overwatering.

Could you please tell me whether this is a goji berry plant? Thanks, David
No, this does not appear to be Goji Berry.

The leaves on my goji berry plants are yellow and light green. What would cause that?
They are deciduous and will shed all of their leaves.

How do I winterize potted goji and fig tree outdoors?
Your Goji is hardy in your area! It is your fig that will need protection. This article will show you how to protect these for the winter: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/fruits/figs/fig-cold-protection.htm
I planted them in the ground from a start. The 1st year I got about 1/2 cup goji berries (I have 3 plants) the 2nd year I got nothing. They have gotten taller and grew some thorns. What should I expect?
Here is information about their care. See if you are providing all the cultural requirements. One thing you can do is tip prune the canes to encourage lateral branches and more fruit.

still blistered, but the berries are the normal orange color. Are they safe to eat? We live in southern Wisconsin. The plant is about 10 years old, but only started producing black berries for about three years. Before that they were fine, and the leaves were fine, and we were eating the berries.
They should be fine since fruit is normal color. Bruised green fruit can turn black. Odd thing is there is a variety that produces black fruits, though rare in U.S.
The "blisters" could be leaf galls caused by gall mites. Treatment isn't usually warranted once they appear. Prevention is the better option.

My vines are over 6 feet long "and growing". They are multiplying on their own. I'm building a trellis this spring, but I'm assuming that they need to be pruned.
Yes, they can be pruned often. There isn't really a restriction on when to prune, though. You can do so at any time, unless it is stressed.
