what is the normal PH level for Fuchsias
I have been told my fuchsia's have a disease called GORMITE (I'm not sure of the spelling)can you give me any information on this problem please.

The flowers appear ok around the base of the plant but wizened near the new growth see attached photo
This is usually a pH related issue. You will have to test it yourself, or take it to your local extension service to find out what it is. Then you can correct it. I live in Eastbourne and my fuchsia's have been decimated with gall mite I have been advised to spray with a Westlands insecticide but this is fatal for bees as well, I have destroyed a lot of my plants, is there an insecticide I can use that is environmentally friendly

After you have pruned out the affected foliage as suggested in the article, you can start a preventive program with 70% neem oil and/or insecticidal soap.
I have rust on all my fuschias in my garden, but none in my surrounding pots. Is the disease in the soil or airborne? I have dug up and binned half a dozen, roots all but dead. These plants are all at least 10 years old
