My fuschia was full of flowers last year the best its been since I planted it 5 years ago. This year nothing no leaves at all and many of the the woody steams just snap of when you touch them it seem completely dead. What could have caused such a rapid decline?
What zone are you in, and has the winter been excessively cold this year? There are many things that could have went wrong here. An excessively wet year can cause fungal infections.
Any information that you can give me about the climate this past few months can help me to know what is going on here. I'd like to solve this issue as well.
i live in the southeast of england very close to coast.the weather was cold in February and then very wet in march, but this is not uncommon for this part of the country
Hello, I was at my local nursery today and saw Fuchsia Millenial manicured and growing into an upright climbing vine. Is it possible to train them to grow along a trellis similar to honeysuckle? I'm in southern california. The area I would plant gets morning sun, but it shaded the rest of the day. Thanks, Graham
Yes, you can grow these on a trellis as well! This article will give you more information on the care of these: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/flowers/fuchsia/growing-fuchsia-flower.htm
Is it too late to cut my fushias. They were growing well and then the frost killed them off but they are beginning to leaf from the bottom but the tops are all dead and I want to cut them down.
It would be completely safe to cut any dead growth now. This will help th new growth to start coming in better as well. This article will give you more information on the care of these: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/flowers/fuchsia/growing-fuchsia-flower.htm
Hi. I used to have a fuschia bush in my last garden that came up year after year with very little maintenance. Have you any idea what I should ask for at the garden centre to get the same again, everyone I get seems to die after the first summer. TIA Paula
Did you move to an area that experiences a different climate? This could be the reason that it is not working out well at this time.
Alternatively, it is very easy to give it too much care in the beginning. Too much, or too little moisture can cause it too die out, as well as certain temperatures.
I am not familiar with your area, as we are located in the United States, but if you can give me as much information about your climate, and conditions at planting, then I will be more than happy to help.
If you are visiting your local gardening centers, the only advice that I have, without knowing the exact variety, would be to describe the entire plant as detailed as possible. They may or may not be able to identify the exact variety for you.
In the meantime, this article will give you more information on the care of these: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/flowers/fuchsia/growing-fuchsia-flower.htm
as the plant drops flowers it leaves a small base or bulb. should I be removing that too or should I just cut back to a growing node where I see two leaves ?
Yes, you can pinch off the old flowers.

There's a light yellowish dust on my Fushcia and is that a problem or just coming from the flowers as they dry and fall?
Can you include a photo? This, simply, sounds like pollen falling from the flowers, but a photo will help me to know for sure.
Someone more knowledgeable than myself was just over and said it was aphids on the Fuchia and also that they had gotten into my other plants. Help!
Should I pinch the tops of the fuchsia stems to promote a fuller plant?
Spent flowers can be dead headed from the plant to encourage more flowering.
If you are referring to young seedlings or plants, you can trim back to a leaf node; but you can delay flowering.
