It likely would cast too much shade. If you google garden fencing, most of the images are of fences with a combination wood frame and wire mesh panels, or a chain link fence. I assume you want to exclude certain animals. For most animals a 2 to 3 foot high fence is enough, but deer can jump high and require about 8 feet.
