I am the Spanish gardener. This plant is approx. two feet high and has taken some time to get to this height and lots of watering - seems to be very slow growing.
This appears to be a variety of Croton.

I've had my croton since July 1st. It has done well, and even produced new foliage. The past couple of weeks, the leaves are falling off. Is this normal? What can I do?
Moving a Croton to a new location can cause leaf drop in the plant.
If this is not the case there can be a few different reasons.
Here is a link to help you pinpoint the cause.

Does anyone know how to make a Golden Bell Croton plant happy indoors? I can give it direct sunlight in the AM and shaded light in the afternoon. I know I should make sure not to over water. NOT sure I have right soil as it was a gift many years ago. Anyone know what soil this plant would like? Lighter with perlite or sand? What proportion? Or potting soil? Would that be OK? Yes, there is a drainage hole at the bottom of the pot. It's so straggly now I feel awful. Want to help and I've been told it has to be pruned. BUT first I think it needs lighter soil and a new pot. ANY HELP appreciated.
OH GEEZ, why don't the pix I selected come through? This is crazy.
I have an indoor Gold Dust Croton which is TWENTY FOUR years old. Years ago, when I repotted it, it lost most of its leaves so now its branches are VERY long and there are only leaves growing at the tip of each branch. Other than not having leaves growing down its branches, it is a VERY healthy and happy plant. Each branch is now about two feet long!! As such, the branches are bending (though they seem quite flexible) and I wondered if you have any suggestions. Both my son and I would hate to see a branch break off. Imagine, I bought this plant when my son was about eight and now he is in his 30s. Any suggestions will surely be appreciated. Thank you kindly. I am going to recommend that you prune your croton (at least the most elongated wayward branches - I see three such branches in your photo - the ones that are bending over) in order to regain the bushier look that you desire. Pruning will encourage new growth lower down on the stem.

I have had my croton plant for 2 years - still have a few original leaves. Have lots of new leaves but they are all green with some yellow. What gives?
For good color in your Croton, they need good nutrition. They are acid loving tropical plants. Feeding them 3 times a year with an acid producing fertilizer will help.
Proper sunlight, bright but not direct and consistently moist soil.

When you water the plants and the water runs out of the bottom in the saucer, do you let the plant sit in the water? Especially, croton.
It is best not to let plants sit in the water that runs out the bottom. The water should be promptly emptied out of the saucer under the pot, or you should water in the sink so that this is not necesary. If the plant sits in the water, the soil may stay too wet, or salts can build up in the soil and eventually damage the plant.
How to get rid of white mites on croton plants? Are they harmful to me or do I have to worry about them getting on me? Because I am already scared any kind of insects.
Plant mites are not harmful to humans, so don't worry about them getting on you. Taking the plant outside and hosing it down to wash the mites off is a good control method. Here are some other ways to get rid of the mites:
