Can the coleus flower be dried for seeds?
Yes. Remember, if your coleus is hybrid, the seedlings won't ''come true''. The plants will vary from their parent.
I have been overwintering coleus cuttings in vermiculite every winter. I pot up about 8 and generally only 2 make it. I have them under lights (16 hrs) in my cool garage. About this time of year the bottom leaves start turning brown and falling off. I water them with rainwater when they get dry. Should I feed them? I've heard not to put them in potting soil to overwinter. I did that one year and they all died. I would like to rescue them from turning brown. I'm thinking the garage doesn't get below 40 degrees F. Any suggestions?

I've been successfully growing coleus in pots for years. They always thrive, and sometimes look great into November and December. Two weeks ago I planted three coleus -- with fresh soil, in the same spot -- and two of them are dead or dying. I can't figure out what went wrong, or what I should do. Thanks for any help you can give me.
It sounds like they went into transplant shock. Some plants - even if they are the same species or variety - fare better than others when it comes to shock. Bought some coleous bulbs and planted as instructed. They all rotted! How is the RIGHT way to plant these bulbs?
Are you sure what you have is coleus? These are annuals, which do not grow from bulbs. Here is more info on growing these plants: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/foliage/coleus/coleus-plant-care.htm Perhaps what you have are actually caladium bulbs (or tubers), which may sometimes look similar to coleus plants. If so, these articles should help with growing them:https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/bulbs/caladium/when-to-plant-caladium-bulbs.htm, https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/bulbs/caladium/caladium-plant-care.htm, https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/bulbs/caladium/fancy-leaf-caladiums.htm
Will cutting flowers off promote growth?
Yes, as with any plant, pinching off flowers and top growth will encourage more leaves. However, it's not necessary. I think the flower spikes on this coleus border look real pretty, don't you? https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/foliage/coleus/coleus-plant-care.htm
Can this plant stay out in winter?
It looks to be a coleus plant, which is an annual and will not survive over winter. That being said, you can take steps to overwinter the plant indoors or take cuttings for next season. This article will help with that: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/foliage/coleus/overwintering-coleus.htm
