    Although I can't say for certain, my best guess would be that it was a bit of an expensive task to breed such a trait into the plant. This would translate into a higher cost to the public.

    This plant grows about 1-3 feet tall and wide, or potentially as tall as 4 feet. If desired, you can also restrict its growth by keeping it in a smaller pot.

    You can apply a weak application of wettable sulfur. This will, both, kill the fungi and spores, along with helping provide your tree with trace amounts of sulfur.

    These will not harm your tree, but it can indicate that the soil is staying too wet for too long.

    The only thing you can really do from here is to keep it away from the cold. It should recover on its own, but don't cut anything off until you see new growth. Then you can go trim off the dead growth.

    Unfortunately your photos did not come through. I am unable to see the damage. Usually, this will indicate overwatering. They are very drought tolerant, but will not tolerate wet soils. It is best to use a cactus mix, or use that mixed with a little potting soil. This will allow for proper drainage. Here is an article that will help you care for the plant:
