I am not familiar with the temperature and weather patterns in your country. Can you give the high and low temperatures and rainfall patterns for your country?

Generally, I would recommend planting those in Spring, before any hot weather arrives. This will give them the best chance for survival, but Autumn can also work, as long as it doesn't get overly cold in your area.

Many cherries from pit will yield a bitter cherry but that is not to say that they cannot be grown in container. This requires a little extra care to maintain in container, though. Most sweet cherry varieties are self-unfruitful (self-incompatible) and require cross pollination with another variety as the pollen source.

There are two ways to go about this. The first way is much safer, but will take months to see any results. This way is to put the seeds in the fridge for about a month, and then plant them as they are. This will take months to see a sprout, but once the hard stone shell dissolves it will germinate.

The second way can be quite dangerous, but you can see a sprout in as little as two months. You will need to wear gloves for this, since cherry pits contain prussic acid. This is converted to cyanide in the body, very rapidly.

After placing the seeds in the refrigerator for a month you will want to remove the outer shell. You must be very careful not to nick the almond like seed inside, and especially do not get it on your skin. Break the shell open with a hammer revealing the seed. Place this seed in moist soil, and under light. Wait for growth.

I think you are asking about black knot disease, a common problem especially in wild or untended areas. It is a fungus. One key to control is to prune out all affected branches to prevent further spread. The links below go to articles on black knot of cherry and other fruit trees. Make sure the fungicide explicitly states it treats black knot fungus.
