How do I prevent those little black worms in my bing cherries, my whole crop was not eatable lat yer, first time for this .The tree is probably 25 years old, never been sprayed.
There are two insects that are the likely culprits. The Spotted Wing Drosophila and the Western Cherry Fruit Fly.
Managing these pests is key and the links below will help you.

We are trying to save a cherry tree overcome by black knot fungus. We cut away as many of the galls as we could without cutting the tree down and have received advice from the local extension office about best fungicide to use. My husband wants to fertilize the tree but I want to be sure that this will not interfere with our effort to get rid of the fungus. Can you advise?
Though early spring fertilizing can be done, I don't like to fertilize a tree into health.
You may want to have a soil test done and see if the nutrient levels are low in your soil.
If then needed, you can fertilize appropriately.

Is it to late to mulch ? And if so what can I do to feed my tree which I have in a big pot ? From jenny
Mulching the Cherry Tree with a good quality compost should take place in February, but go ahead and do it now if you missed this time period.
I would fertilize with a balanced fertilizer 12-12-12 will give your tree the nitrogen and potassium it needs--I would use a slow release formula.

I have two cherry trees. One bing and one stella planted about twenty feet apart. the bing tree is abour 20 foot tall and the stella is about 7 foot. The have not produced cherries in the last two years. What is my problem?
Your trees should be compatible pollinators.
The recommended distance apart is 15-18 feet. Your trees are just outside this.
Sometimes it's the smallest issue that causes lack of fruit.

My mature cherry tree has been damaged by my neighbour when he hacked off a number of branches hanging over the fence and made a large gash in the trunk. The tree's bark is now peeling off in large areas. What can I do to save it?
Thanks to all who replied to my question regarding my 'once lovely and very fruitful' Cherry Tree, I have been in touch with a tree surgeon who said the only thing I can do is chop the tree down as it has very large areas of disease in the trunk which are killing the tree. Such a shame!
Most bark damage can heal on it's own.

After lots of blossom, the leaves at the tips of each branch curl up and the blossoms go dark brown and wither up with the immature fruit falling off!!
Has the tree grown successful crops in the past?
Cherry Run Off can help every few years; the tree produces more fruit that it can support, so it drops the fruit.
This can occur when temperatures are low and days are cloudy.
There can also be environmental factors, herbicide drifts, improper nutrition, or irregular irrigation.
You can have a soil test done to determine if you need to make adjustments to fertilizers or amend soil.
