Hi. Please can you give me a soil recipe for chastberry trees. I have tried on google with no luck Regards Patricia
Chaste tree's biggest requirement is well-drained soil. It should be fine in anything except heavy clay or very rich, organic soils. If you are growing it in a container, try mixing some very coarse sand into standard potting mix. Do not use a mix with "moisture control" beads or granules.

We planted this tree a few months ago and it does not have any green on it now because of winter. When will it start to get new buds or growth? Right now it looks dead because it has nothing on it. Our fruitless Pear Tree already has new tiny leaves.
Your tree was likely dormant when you planted. As long as the root system is alive, your tree should began to grow and leaf out.

Best time of year to plant these trees
Spring or fall are always good time for plantings but really anytime with proper care.
Well draining soil is very important for Chaste Tree, so make sure you have the proper planting site. Amending soil may be necessary if you soil does not drain well.

Please tell me how to propagate a chaste tree. From seed? or cuttings? I have no photos
You can germinate the seeds as you would most seeds. The most effective way is by cutting. This article will help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/trees/tgen/how-to-root-cuttings-from-various-shrubs-bushes-and-trees.htm

I bought a chaste tree that had lots of flowers on it. When we planted it, it continued to bloom for a few weeks, and then the blooms eventually died off (as they do). I cut the dead blooms off to encourage new blooms. There has been a TON of new growth on the tree, lots of bright green leaves popping out everywhere, but absolutely no flowers. It gets full sun in the morning and early afternoon and it is in front of a brick wall, so it gets radiant heat for most of the evening, too. Is there anything I can do to encourage it to flower again?
It will probably not bloom again until next year. Only cut off spent blooms, and give it about a year to recover. You will see flowers again soon enough.

We live in Northern California in area with hot summers and occasional freezes in winter. The soil in our yard is poor and I'd like to plant a Chaste Tree in a large container for privacy and color. Will it grow in these circumstances
Chaste tree, Vitex will grow in San Anselmo but will likely suffer frost die-back in winter and grow back in spring. If you want dependable year round foliage, choose some other plant.

Check with Sloat Garden Center in Kentfield or your favorite local nursery for details and a good planting soil for your container, like this:

We planted a 3 gallon chaste tree 3 days ago and watered it well. It has wilted, what could be wrong. We are in the dfw area of Texas and it has been really windy for 3 days with gust up to 40 miles an hour. Would this affect it? Now it is in the 40s and 50s.
Wind will remove moisture from the tree; its leaves, flowers, bark and the soil.
Make sure you water daily for the first few weeks then taper off.
Stake the tree until established.
