Could you please tell me what type of cactus is the guy on the far left in the first photo in this link? https://www.barrythecactus.com/product/mini-cactus-x-3-assorted or the front one in this link? https://www.barrythecactus.com/product/pink-boob-pot I have that mini one and I've managed to give it rot. I have just cut off the bottom rotted part and need to choose the appropriate soil to re-pot and try to save it!!! Your site says apparently if it's a tropical variety you want a bit of peat in the soil if it's a desert variety you don't. Thanks!!!
Use a good commercial cactus soil mix for all indoor cactus.

cactus also has the white bumps on its branches, but no spikes coming out of the bumps. What is this?
It sounds like you may have a Scale infestation.
Isolate the plants so it does not spread further.
Neem Oil is a good treatment for these pests.

This could be many things from pests, to fungal infections. Seeing the soil, container, and conditions can help me to make a better diagnosis.
I want to know if my sunburned cactus(it is part of my landscaping) could be from lack of water as well as the hot summer sun. I live in Phoenix. I've had the cactus for about 13-15 years and last year was the first year that this happened. Maybe it could be an age thing too. Anyway I'm going to get some shade netting I guess and lay it over the cactus and the 3 offspring. I'm sorry I don't know the name of the cactus, but it grows very slowly and has little yellow flowers around the top of it in the spring. Also it has a sort of furry white top. If you can give me any advice about this I would be very grateful to have it. Thank you. Delores
You may have a barrel cactus, and it may have a fungal disease called Pythium rot.
Sunburn is not likely, but wounding and associated fungal infection is a possibility.
Review the following article and see if that makes sense.
We purchased our favorite cactus 6 months ago upon moving to Florida, and the big guy is rapidly growing! We're blown away. It has started to lean and expand on the top, and I'm getting worried it may topple over. Can you please share any tips on how to best care for our cactus? I have been watering it probably every third day, so maybe too much water? It's located on a patio with partial sun, in northern FL.
They will continue to lean in response to light. What you can do is turn it often in the opposite direction, or in quarter turns. This will keep it somewhat straight, and from falling over.

I have two issues. I have Two cacti that have gotten too tall and drooping. I attempted to prop them up, but it didn’t work. Do I need to propagate sections in larger pot? Second problem, I have an Elkhorn Cactus that is approx. 40 years old. There are some dead ends at top of different sections. Should I cut dead portion off and apply hormone rooting powder? Certainly don’t want to lose this beauty. Going to attempt to send pictures. Stephen R Stanfield srs20@eastex.net
The crawling cactus, actually, has a very fitting name. The Creeping Devil Cactus. This is how they grow naturally, and there will be no need to take any action on that.
Those spots on your other cactus won't do much harm. As long as they don't spread, and remain the same, then it will be ok to leave it like it is. You may do more damage cutting it than leaving it.
If you choose to cut it off, I would not apply rooting hormone. You wouldn't want to propagate that piece anyway. If you must cut it off, then apply peroxide to the open wound to avoid further infection.

The pot that the Elkhorn cactus is in is 9"h x 8"deep. Shouldn't it be repotted in larger pot? It is very top-heavy.
