I am confused. If I plant lima beans, which are green, how will I get the pale gold color of butter beans?
While often referred to as the same thing, the two beans are quite different. https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/vegetables/beans/how-to-grow-lima-beans.htm

We planted Speckled Butterbeans about 2 months ago. We live just outside of Houston, Tx. The plants have grown up and over their fence, but don't have a single bloom or pod on them. What are we doing wrong? We didn't put any of the innoculant on them before planting.
You may need to consider adding a bean inoculant to the soil. Here is an article or two that you may find helpful: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/vegetables/beans/growing-butter-beans-in-your-garden.htm

My climbing butter beans have prolific and healthy looking vines but no blooms; vines have been 'mature' for at least 4 weeks. I use organic fertilizer recommended for vegetables.

I planted 3 rows of climbing beans approximately 60 days ago and although they have made small blooms, , I still have no bean pods forming. What might be the reason for no pods?

Why do I have lovely butter bean vines but no butter beans? I had the same problem last year.
All beans are nitrogen fixing plants so be careful to avoid heavy nitrogen feedings, as nitrogen-rich soils result in excessive vine growth and little to no beans. This article should also help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/vegetables/beans/bean-blossoms-no-pods.htm
