How do I care for brugmansia?

Why do brugmansia leaves fall off?
Not enough water or not enough sunlight are the most common reasons for brugmansia leaf loss.
Both are potted. The pink one bloomed last year, white one didn't. The same thing this year, pink one blooming now and white one has no buds. They are very large. I water regular and fertilize. My daturas bloomed (lovely) and new brug I got this year has blooms and is bigger than the ones from last year! The pots are large enough, plenty of sun. I'm confused.
I am far from knowledgeable about Brugs so sent this question to a friend of mine who is a real guru. Here is her answer:
Susan, I would say she is NOT fertilizing often enough. I fertilize twice a week, and use a mixture of any good water soluble fertilizer and add Epsom salt and tomato fertilizer. Since they are in the tomato family, this really helps get more blooms. Also, they should NEVER dry out, and since hers are all in containers, she will have to water a lot.
I have brugmansia plants in large containers. I water them constantly and fertilize them but they have not bloomed and are losing their leaves. What could be the problem?
They do sound under-watered. The water may not be getting to the bottom of the container. At least once a week, flood the container to the point of overflowing. This should ensure that the water reaches the bottom of the container.
Mu brug is in a large pot (20 inches) and started out the season at 2 feet tall. It grew to 6 feet before it formed a 'Y' and bloomed. I want to take cuttings in the fall for next year and want them to bloom. Where should the cuttings be made? Above the Y, or will cuttings below the Y work as well? I have taken lots of cuttings before and generally just used one stem and cut it up and they rooted and grew, but I gave them away and never followed their progress or re-blooming.

I have a huge brugmansia that was planted in the ground too close to my house and now I want to get rid of it. The root system is too big for me to dig up, but I want to get rid of the bush. Any suggestions?
If you just want to kill the roots, when you cut the tree/bush down, immediately paint the cut stump wound with full strength Round-up. The root system will "suck" the Round-up into its system and will die. You may have to follow up with 1 - 2 fresh cuts to completely kill the whole roots system, but it works pretty well.
I have a number of brugmansia in containers that I moved with me from Georgia to Arizona. The plants look great, foliage is great, but only one of the six or seven plants is blooming. Why?
