I planted multiple beautyberry bushes several years ago. Every year, the bush restarts growing from the ground. None of the existing branches are putting out any stems/leaves. I don't understand why this is happening. Any help would be appreciated Thanks
You are in USDA 6, and the shrub is only fully hardy down to Zone 7.
Unfortunately, unless you grow it in container and bring it in during the coldest parts of the year, this is what you will expect each year.

Lucky you! This is a wonderful native plant called beautyberry (Callicarpa americana). The berries are not toxic.

I have given it a lot of water but the leaves are still looking wilted. Will it come back? Any suggestions to help it along? I live in central Florida.
