What is the best way to keep my beach grass healthy and spreading? My beach grass has a LOT of thatch in the center of the plants. Is it better to leave it or remove and add some sand in the bare spot? It's on a sloping dune.
Here is a great article with care information.

My property has a large hill with beach grass growing in soil.It is not near the beach or any body of water. There are many weeds growing in it.Is there anything i can do to stop the weeds?I am in zone 7a zip code 11946 Thanks for any help you can give. Yvette Maloney
Besides from pulling up as many as possible, I am afraid that any treatment would harm the grass as well. You can use boiling water but this will kill the grass as well. It would just not make the soil toxic for future planting.
I have beach grass planted in soil on a hill in my yard. There are weeds growing all thru it. Is there anything I could spray on it to kill the weeds and stop them? Thank you. Yvette Maloney
Anything you use may kill off the grass as well. You will, more than likely, have to hand pick them. This is unfortunate but I am afraid that anything you use will also harm the plants you are trying to keep around. If there are large patches, then you can kill them with boiling water. This will still kill grass as well, but it will not leave the ground toxic.
