I have a potted banyan tree that is about 25 years old. This year, in the green house, the leaves lost their normal dark green shade and now a very light green to yellow. I just took it out of the green house a couple of weeks ago. While in the green house it did not get any direct sunlight. In years past it survived the winter months in the greenhouse very well. Now I want to get it back to its normal healthy green self. What can I do?
Here's a couple of possibilities: Has the tree been repotted in the last few years? They need to be repotted about every 2 to 3 years. If not, try that and replace as much of the soil as possible with fresh soil and see if that perks it up. Another cause of yellowing leaves is the pot sitting in water. The tree should be watered well and allowed to dry out between waterings. Be sure to discard any water that collects in the reservoir.
I have some aerial roots (12-24 inches) of a banyan trees. Is it possible to grow a tree by planting the tip of the roots alone? I could not cut the stem since it was high and very thick.
Technically, yes. With the right auxin/cytokinin ratio, you can force shoot growth. Usually, a cytokinin spray, such as a bud set spray, will force shoot growth. That may be all that it takes!

e time in answering my query. I need to use the Banyan Tree Leaves for Spiritual purpose hence want to know if I ca preserve the cut banyan leaf for 3 weeks from the time I cut it from the Tree, & also what are the ways by which I can preserve:- Like keeping the cut leaf in water, etc.. Thanks..
You can try keeping it in water, in refrigeration, but that is a long time to try and preserve fresh, living material.
Drying it may prove a better method. This is best done with wax paper between book pages, and weight.
