What can I do to pre ent this in the future
Is there any evidence of caterpillar feeding? Other intruders are squirrels.

Hi, I have been growing this avocado plant for around a year and it has started developing black tips on the leaves. It started with one leaf and now it is spreading to the others. Does anyone know what causes this? I have changed the soil to be more free draining, what else can I do to stop this? Thanks in advance!
I think that this is a case of too much nutrients. I would stay away from high nitrogen soil mixes, and garden soils. It seems to be ready to go into a slightly larger container than it was in, so make sure that it is no more than an inch larger on all sides.
My avocado and citrus trees get the same treatment. It is about 1/3 compost, and 3/4 organic potting soil. When you do feed, just add compost as a topdress, or use a slow release fertilizer labeled "all purpose". Citrus mixes will be appropriate, should you want to choose something pre-bagged.
Here are some articles that will help:
Bought this tree a couple months ago. I found a small leaf stuck to a big leaf. Pulled them apart and found this spider inside the web with eggs. Can you please identify it??? Thank you
Could be a yellow sac spider. They are not shy about biting if bothered.
An arborist put something in tree and tree died. We pruned and now it is florishing. 4 yrs later and no fruit. Will it ever ? Can we do something to help produce fruit again?
Continue to give it the best care possible. Here are tips that should help:

why does our avocado tree produce large peanut shaped avocados?
You may need to thin the fruit if a large amount is formed. These articles should help:

Both trees are a healthy green growing taller than my house.
I would be sure to test the soil for deficiencies. Sometimes this can be due to infertile soil. This article will help:

This article will offer more reasons why avocados will fail to flower or fruit:

I would like to purchase a dwarf avocado tree for indoor use. I have heard type A's are better for self pollinating is this true and what variety of dwarf avocado indoor trees do you recommend? Thank you for your help. Betty Otte
Actually, type B would be better suited. Because there will be more overlap in time that both male and female flowers are open at the same time, it will be more likely to self pollinate with some help.
You will need to pollinate the stigma with some pollen with a soft brush, by hand.
