Can I simply plant the green berries to propagate the asparagus fern? Do they need to dry out first? Thanks, Candis Owens cbowens100@yahoo.com
They will need to turn red first. This will signal that they are ripe. You can propagate these from seed pretty easily with some patience. This is an ornamental asparagus, and will have the same propagation method as its edible cousin. I don't know what to do with my asparagus fern since putting miracle grow in it they are just growing out of sorts!!! do I trim them and where?
What a pretty green sight! You can certainly give the plants a trim back to manage the size in your garden.
I planted 5 roots earlier this year. 3 developped ferns which then dried off. this is the first time it has happened to me having grown asparagus successfully for the past 15 years. Why ?
Lack of humidity is the most common reason for the loss of these plants.

I hope I didn't kill my asparagus fern when I brought it indoors for the winter. Its in a small pot and was beautiful then when I brought it in it started turning brown so I cut it all off to about 2 inches above the dirt. All that was (is) there was brown sticks sticking up. I maybe watered it 2 times over the winter (I figured it was dormant) and now I have set it back outside (been there about 2 weeks) and watered every other day. It isn't doing anything. Is it too soon? Will it come back?
Unfortunately your plant may have died. To winter over indoors you should just treat as a houseplant. They do not need to go dormant.
Luckily these are quite inexpensive and you can start another plant.

I recently transplanted my Fox tail asparagus ferns from pot to garden and they are turning Brown and seemed to be dying why?
This looks like sunburn. They really prefer shade. They can tolerate partial sun, but will not tolerate direct light for very long. This article will give you more information on the care of these: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/foliage/asparagus-fern/asparagus-fern-care.htm
Nothing else to say.
It is hardy in US planting zones 9-11 and you are listed as Cheshire, England, which, according to Internet data, doesn't typically fall below freezing in the winter. So, yes, I would think you could plant it outside as a groundcover. If not, you could plant it in a container outside for the summer and bring it inside during the winter as a houseplant.
