How big the lily need to grow before I move it to its own pot?
Generally when you are growing potted lily bulbs, you start the bulb in the pot that they will remain in for the duration of their growing and blooming period.
They may even be able to stay in that first growing pot for a 2nd season. After the 2nd year, they will likely need to be divided.
It's unclear what size pot you have used to start your lily, so I'm hesitant to give any advice on moving your plant at this time.
Can you cut lilies - let them grow roots & then plant them? Or do they have to grow from a bulb?

I took the bulbs out of my pot when they finished blooming. How should I store them until I plant them in the ground in the fall? I live in Zone 9, California central valley.

I read somewhere on your site that to transplant my Asiatic Lilies and Tiger lilies should be done in lat fall, around the end of Sept. or Oct. ~ I am in Zone 7, New York. Also, I want to purchase some bulbs next month. Will they "stay fresh" until I plant them in late fall. How fresh will they remain? If you can, please advise what other flowers I can plant at that time. I only want to plant PERENNIALS. I am not that much into annuals. Your kind response is greatly appreciated. Have a glorious day, with blessings. Thank you.
If you are purchasing Asiatic and Tiger Lily bulbs they can be planted right away.

Does removing the pollen stem in oriental lilies extend their cut flower life?
Once the flowers have fallen off, do I just keep looking after it until the next ones appear? What about the leaves that turn brown at the bottom? Is it correct to remove them and will they grow in that space again because the shaft looks very barren if you keep on removing them?
Generally, with Asiatic lilies, once they have finished blooming, that’s it. While it's fine to remove the spent blooms or stems, allow the leaves to remain on the plant until they have completely died back. The plant requires this foliage to gather energy for next season's blooms.
I planted some giant lillies last year and they flowered beautifully last year. Now i'm left with just the giant stems - do I cut them back to ground level or just leave them alone? Many thanks for your help, much appreciated. Christine
A Japanese Maple should grow in your climate. A well draining soil is needed.
