Certified ExpertA.They don't usually go through a dormancy, though some can survive this far north, and will in that case.
Likely, yours isn't a hardy variety, though. Not unless you specifically ordered one because it was a hardy type.
In this case, you will need to treat it as a living houseplant with a high light requirement. If you do not have a South facing window that receives daylight almost all day, then you will need some extra lighting.
these will want 200 watts or more of horticultural lighting per plant. There are many options to choose from, as long as you stay away from cheap LED fixtures. LED's are wonderful, if you spend the money on a good panel, but sub-par if you want something cheap.
Ceramic Metal Halide fixtures are the most effective and efficient for cost, as long as you don't mind the added heat. They come in 315 watts, though, so you are limited on choice. They do light a 4x4 area, though, so anything that you can fit under there will have pretty close to sunlight quality lighting.

72022Q.How Do You Trim Angel Trumpet Tree
Do you trim the old branches of your angel trumpet tree or do they grow leaves on old branches. If you trimm them wrong will they renew themselves. Mine are putting out at the ground level. What should I do. Thanks. The branches are bare and have no y shapes they are just straight. Should I cut them to the ground

Certified ExpertA.It is very fortunate that they are alive, at all! They are not hardy down to zone 7, so you should expect them to die back to the roots each year.
Colder than expected years will, likely, leave you with completely dead plant.
Prune back the entire dead portion and it will resume growth form the roots.

Vermont zone 4Q.Angels Trumpets
I have been growing Angels Trumpets in zone 4 for a number of years. Some years I get an abundance of blooms, some only a few. I have not been able to get them to bloom earlier than mid Sept. I have not been repotting them each year and use Miracle Grow as fertilized. Any suggestions as to increase the number of flowers and get them to bloom earlier? Thank you. Steve. Srosmus@yahoo.com

Certified ExpertA.Most MiracleGro products contain far too much nitrogen to promote flowering. This is likely the issue.
Use fertilizers that are higher in phosphorus and potassium, and don't have as much nitrogen for better flowering, and during the flowering season.

Certified ExpertA.It could be a few different things. The most likely is a lack of fertilizer, or the wrong kind.
Plants in flowering will be hungry for Potassium and Phosphorus, mainly. Too much nitrogen during flowering will prevent flowering, or cause it to flower less.

Eatonton ga 31024Q.Can I Spray My Angel Trumpet For Insects While It Is Blooming?
I have a devil’s trumpet that had aphids I sprayed it and cut it back. Now I think they have moved to my angel trumpet they in pot close in area. Can I spray neem oil extract on my angel trumpet while it is still blooming? It is full of blooms and looks healthy but I see something on it and eating it.

I recently moved to a well established backyard. Most of the shrubs and plants have been neglected though and I'm trying to cut some back. I have some very tall Angel Trumpet plants that were beautiful during the summer. Do I prune these way back to the ground at this time? Thanks for your help.

Certified ExpertA.Angel trumpet is not hardy and you are in zone 8a, which experiences below freezing temperatures. If it is in a pot you can overwinter it indoors. If you think it's been staying outside, you can try cutting it almost to the ground and heaping on the mulch.
Normally, pruning is done in spring by cutting branch tips back to a growth node. They also can withstand a hard pruning to the ground.

September 3, 2021Q.Angel Trumpet Wilting Horribly
I just got my angel trumpet tree 3 days ago. When we dug it up it initially wilted a little from shock. But I left it in the pot and let the rain take over for about 2 days and it perked back up. I planted it in the ground yesterday in the shade only today its wilting horribly. Its only getting the afternoon sun maybe 4 or 5 hrs
