Thank you. My amaryllis just finished blooming and flowers died. I accidentally cut back all the green to the bulb. I know your supposed to let the green die naturally after you cut the stalk of the bloom. I didn't! Everything now cut down. Can I now give the bulb a dormant period say in the fridge or will it not have enough energy bc I cut the green leaves? Thank you so much.
This is hard to say. I have seen it go both ways. An accidental mowing can kill them, or some may survive. I would slowly introduce them into dormancy by slowing down watering until they are dry. Then you can remove and begin the storage process, or let them overwinter in container. It is likely that some will survive, but you may lose some as well.

I have a giant potted amaryllis bulb that is 10 years old. It blooms every year and has had several side baby bulbs. It is root bound and ready to bloom again. Is it possible to remove all these roots without damaging the bulb. Is there a proper time to do this?

I live in Central Florida and a friend just gave me about 20-30 Amaryllis Bulbs that were just dug up. I am not sure if I should just plant them as they are or otherwise.
Plant them ASAP. The leaves are green which means they are still nourishing the bulbs. Here is an article on growing amaryllis outdoors. https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/bulbs/amaryllis-hippeastrum/amaryllis-outdoor-garden.htm
I have a lily that is pink and looks very much like a star gassier lily. The difference is the leaves are long and slender reaching about 3 feet. The flower stem can be about 3 ft high. The bulb is very big and can be as long as a foot and about 7 or 8 inches in diameter. I cann't find any lily anywhere that has the very long slender leaves. Does anyone know what kind of lily it could be ? I was given the lily from a friend many years ago and now have a number of them in my yard.
From just a description, I would say Amaryllis naked lady Lily plants.

I was surprised to see new leaves sprouting out from my amaryllis bulb as it had not had a "planned" dormant period. Two leaves are now 6 inches and two others are 2 and 3 inches. I do not see a stalk. I was waiting to bring the bulb in from outdoors to put in a dark place when I noticed these shoots about 1 inch. They have grown this quickly in a matter of 5 days. What should I do now? Cut the green leaves and let it hibernate? or just let it grow and accept that there will probably be no flowers this time around? After blooming in January - February, the leaves remained on the bulb until the end of April when they started to turn yellow and fall off by mid May. I took the bulb outdoors in the same pot and placed it in a place that got morning sunlight to about 1 pm. Unable to upload pictures (don't know why either).
You can move them back to a dark location, and drop the temperature to cool them down, and this will force them back into dormancy. This article will help you further: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/bulbs/bgen/how-to-store-bulbs-that-have-sprouted.htm
The leaves are still green even though I have stopped watering. Our nights are dropping down into the low 50's
