I just reported from the department store into fresh soil and pot. She is in pretty mild indirect sunlight, could that be the problem?
These plants are almost unkillable with the exception of overwatering. This will make quick work of the plant. Be sure to let it dry out, very thoroughly, between waterings. This plant will tolerate drought conditions, quite well.

I just got this red aglaonema, and it seems like it's in good condition. The leaves look healthy, and I can even see a new plant growing, but I noticed that the soil was very wet and had some green on the surface, which I removed immediately. Now, I'm thinking that maybe the pot is too big for it, but I'm not sure since there is a root growing out of the bottom of the pot. I also checked the top of the soil and saw some roots growing near the top. Should I leave my plant in the same pot, or should I repot it? If I have to repot it, should I go for a bigger size (because the roots seem to grow out of the pot), or should I go for a smaller size? Can I use the same soil if I move it to a different pot? If not, what kind of soil should I use?
I think that the pot size is fine. Good watering practice will be the way forward. It sounds like the soil was just staying too wet for too long. They need moist soil, but it needs to dry out at least 1/3 of the way down into the container between waterings, and don't let it dry out too much past that. I wouldn't go by a schedule, since this will change as it ages. Just feel down into the soil, or use a soil moisture meter.
