I would like to to start an aeroponic herb garden and was wondering if the misters stay on for 24hrs, or is there a timed schedule for the sprayers to be on and off? Is there a minute/hour time cycle, or do they stay off while the plants are in their night cycle (lights on- sprayers on, lights off-sprayers off)?
I have never worked with an aeroponic system myself but I did find a site that may be helpful in all areas of aeroponic growing.
Good luck in your new venture!

When you are growing with aeroponics, how often do you have to feed/or spray the roots?
https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/special/containers/growing-with-aeroponics-what-is-aeroponics.htm
Note: while sprays are of short duration (anywhere from 3-10 seconds),
the interval between sprays generally depends on the type of plant (s)
being grown and can be anything from minutes to weeks.
This aeroponics seems like the thing for me. I try to grow strawberries every year on the porch, but the neighbor's cats and rodents just won't give up. How do I get a plant ready to put in the aeroponic?

Started herb aero-garden two days ago. Red spider mites are crawling all over the unit. Picking them manually. Have concern that when plants germinate they will be infested with spider mites. What is the best choice--get rid of the starter kit now or do some kind of treatment? Don't know what cycle spider mites have. Thought that aero-gardening would be easy. Don't have any plants and live in the apartment, so the spider mites came in the starter kit.
Neem oil is an effective treatment for spider mites. These articles will help:

What shape should the spray be? How far away from the root for fruits and vegetables? How much pressure? How often spray and how long? What is nutrient made of or how do you get it? Do you need special water?

I read the fine article by Nikki Tiley and wanted to ask her what she would use as the starter plants. Does she use seedlings pulled from the garden? Or is there another way? Nice article by the way.
Starter plants can be purchased from the nursery (or aeroponics retailers) or you can use those from which you have previously started from seed yourself--which is the way I would go.
Thanks for the compliments! :)
What is the ppm of fertilizer solution in aeroponic plantation?
The ideal concentration for your fertilizer solution is about 150-600 parts per million (ppm). For most plants, you can narrow that range down to 300-400 ppm.
