Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comMy very large sycamore tree has long limbs(15 to 20′)extending over my yard, which are susceptible to wind breakage. Last Spring a very large limb broke during a wind storm. Can one trim/cut these limbs back without having the entire limb die? I notice knots forming on the ends of some of the smaller ones that have broken.

I would consult a qualified arborist or tree professional to prune the tree.
Tree branch stubs should not be left on the tree.
