I noticed my sweet potato vines have flowers on them. Almost like morning glories. Is this normal?

The flowers that are produced on both ornamental and edible sweet potatoes have a trumpet shape and may be pale pink or purple in color. Often the foliage of ornamental varieties hides the flowers behind their large leaves or camouflages the flowers by the bright hues of the leaves drawing the eye from the pale flowers.
