Q.Sweet Autumn Clematis
I live in lower Michigan, my Sweet Autumn Clematis is 3 years old. I cut it back to one foot tall in March..it still shows no new growth…is it dead? It seems like it should be showing some little bit of green shoots by now.

There is a possibility that it has died. There are certain times to prune certain clematis groups, and pruning them outside of this time frame risks their health. Can you include a photo? Maybe this can help me to see if it is dead or not. You can break off the tip of one of the branches to see if there is still life, or green inside.
