Q.Sunshine V Clouds

Zone Sarasota, fl 34229 | Anonymous added on March 1, 2025 | Answered

Do you happen to know if, say, the 6-7 hour sunlight requirement for avocados and mangos means actual sunlight per day or “potential” sunlight, irrespective of clouds? My newly-planted trees get 7 hours measured on a cloudless day, but the Figure would have to be lowered considering that there are cloudy days/hours. Thank

Full sun means 6 to 8 hours of sun a day that is not hampered by trees or shade from buildings. Clouds will happen everywhere so I don't think that is a problem unless you lived in a location that was overcast most days.
