sunflowers in pots–winter care

Do I need to uproot sunflower plants and store somewhere for the winter? I live at 6000 feet and it snows….Thanks for your help!

Most sunflowers are annuals, and will not survive after dropping seeds. Digging them up before flowering is complete sill stop the process killing the plant prematurely. The best thing that you can do is leave it to complete its cycle.
