Strawflower cactus

I bought a strawflower cactus, I bought it in December and it’s now January and I have it on my kitchen bar and it has white stuff all throughout it and is super squishy. I don’t know what happened or if I can salvage it!

It looks like there were some blooms forming, or had died off. You can remove these, and try adding a capful or peroxide when you water next. It could have a soil infection. Just be sure to let the soil dry out fully in between each watering.

Here is an article that will help as it is a very closely related cactus, and will have the same care: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/cacti-succulents/old-man-cactus/old-man-cactus-care.htm [1]
