strawberry plants

Is it to late in the year to fertilize my strawberry plants? I mowed the tops off yesterday. We are having rain today and I was thinking it might be ok if I didnt put any fertilizer on the berries themselves.

Strawberries respond well to fertilization twice a year. Fertilize in early spring before flowering and right after harvest. Use a 10-10-10 fertilizer broadcast over the plants and then water in.
