Strawberry hanging basket in desert

Hello,

I read your article about strawberries in high heat areas (I live in Las Vegas). I was just gifted a hanging basket of strawberries the other day, with a few small berries already starting to come in. Therefore as I can’t plant in the fall/winter as your article recommended, what can I do to try and keep them alive?? I know they like sunlight, but is it better to keep them inside, even though less sun, just so they don’t burn? It’s the beginning of May and already getting highs of 90°F so I’m very concerned about them. If I do keep them inside am I at risk for attracting insects into the house? Also can you recommend a fertilizer?
