Step by step instructions on planting tulip bulbs in South Central Alaska.

Okay, thank you! I will clear a sunny garden spot where I plan to plant the bulbs. I have Pro-Mix, Sphagnum Peat Moss, and Compost. Are they the correct things I need for successful blooms in the Spring? I know I should mix something with the soil already in the bed but how much of which should I use? I know I should have at least 5 inches of soil over the top of the bulb when it is planted. I know I should plant them in a sunny area. I have not been successful with tulips before because I did not know these things so I appreciate your help SO much with this planting!
