Starting roses from seed

I received my seeds. I got about 30 each of two different Rose types so far. I will be receiving a bunch more seeds by the end of this season so I read somewhere do the stratification process. I had to soak the seeds in a hydrogen peroxide water solution for 2 to 6 hours so I did that. At first a couple seeds popped up to the top of the water and I assumed they were dead by the end of the process several were at the top and that made me a little nervous so when seeds float to the top, does it mean they’re dead? Also, what is the correct stratification process? I do have some in the fridge that I just put there but I just need help I’ve never done this before and I’m on a tight budget but I have several seeds coming and I just want to make sure I do it right.

Hello April. Here is a link to an article I wrote on this subject for you: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/flowers/roses/growing-roses-from-seed.htm [1]
Supposedly placing the seeds in water will tell us if they are good seeds to grow. However I have had seeds that floated go ahead and sprout, so I am not so sure that is totally right. I hope you did not buy any of those Rainbow Rose Seeds as those are a big scam that has been going on for a long time. They send you things that are small pieces of dirt and sand in some cases. No rose will ever grow from those seeds. Hopefully you have purchased true rose seeds. Have fun with it!
