Star Jasmine

I have a 10 foot star jasmine on a south facing wall in South Devon. All the leaves have quite suddenly turned brown, dried out and are falling g off. Is this likely to be terminal? I am wondering if the recent cold snaps have affected it, but I do get the impression it has been in position for some years because of it size. We have only been here for 2 years.

Will the spring bring a new growth of leaves or is there some other underlying cause. I am due to have the area landscaped early next month and if it is a “dead duck” I need to know and act sooner rather than later.

Thank you.

Austin

This is, very likely, due to the cold snap. I believe this will recover just fine, as this is a very mature plant. The only thing to do is just give it some time to recover. You may want to fertilize every spring as well. This collection of articles will give you more information on the care of these: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/flowers/jasmine/ [1]
