Q.Staghorn That Is Growing Up (like A Small Tree) And Not Out (like Antlers). Why?

I have an inherited staghorn plant in my small greenhouse. I’ve attached a couple of pictures. You can see it’s in a basket, just sitting on top of a metal stand. It certainly likes the greenhouse and how warm it stays in there. But I was wondering why my staghorn is growing up (like a small tree) and not out (like antlers)? Perhaps it’ll eventually change to growing out like antlers but I just don’t want it growing so tall that it “outgrows” my greenhouse. Can someone help me? Thanks.

This looks more like Kalanchoe serrata. There are many different kinds and looks, but they have similar care:
