Q.Staghorn Fern – Single Pup And Many Pups In Pictures AND Best Guide To Mount Outdoors On Wood
Hello, I just got my first Staghorn Fern. I would like to mount it on wood but before, I need to understand: 1. What it is I have 2. How to mount them There are two examples of pictures here. One shows what a single pup grows into when several years old. Two such pics. One shows what I believe would be the result if my basket is left to grow as it looks now with many pups. Ultimately I would like to know if I break up the pups in my basket and use some to mount and others for different growing styles. Any advise or link to or video of – splitting up pups and mounting them? I am very excited to make this guy work and I know that in winter weather I will need to put it inside or in garage. Thank you – any and all thoughtful details very welcome.

The staghorn fern is a unique and fascinating plant that can be grown both indoors and outdoors. It requires bright, indirect light and thrives in a humid environment. To care for a staghorn fern, it is important to provide it with well-draining soil and water it regularly, keeping the soil moist but not soggy. Mist the fronds with water to increase humidity. Fertilize the plant every few months with a balanced liquid fertilizer. Staghorn ferns are epiphytic, meaning they can be mounted on a board or hung in a basket. They also benefit from occasional pruning to remove dead or damaged fronds. With proper care, the staghorn fern can be a stunning addition to any plant collection.
