squash plants keep dying

My plants start off fine then one day they wilth and die. The stem at the ground and below is dead. No sign of vine borers but may be missing something. I’ve been spraying with insecticide regularly.

Vine borers are the most common reason for these plants dying, so it likely vine borers that killed the squash. This article will help:
