Squash (Cushaw)

Early in planting season I planted yellow squash. The plants flourished, but with all male flowers. They never produced. Any suggestions for next year? Also, I germinated cushaw seeds. I planted, thinned, and now remaining plants are getting rot in their stems. Plants are in raised bed with proper drainage. How do I save these plants?

This is typical of squash. They get only male flowers early on in the season. However, with time and patience female blooms normally appear and fruiting will eventually occur, provided there is suitable pollination.
