How do split or make two plants out of one plant?

They hate to be repotted, but if the plant is showing signs of stress from being root bound, like yellow leaves, then repot it. Move it to a new container that is at least 2 inches larger than the current pot. If you want to divide the plant, take it out of pot and remove the soil, shaking off as much as you can. Cut the plant in half or as many divisions as you want, BUT make certain each piece has roots on it. Then, cut the top foliage down to about a foot and repot each section.
