Soul test results ph=7,nitrogen=high,phosphorous low, K high Best method for amending soil?

I mixed peat moss and a hand trowel of black cow manure prior to the soil being tested. I received the results but there was no information about how to fix the problem.I need to know how to get the nitrogen and potassium down. There is only information about how high nitrogen is a bad situation.but none that I’ve seen tell you what to do about it.

The test results you received will not be truly representative of your soil conditions. Adding peat moss and manure before testing has altered the lab results and report, and is very likely the reason for high N and K results.
You may not have offered this information to the lab or requested recommendations.

Soil analyst/agronomist review and a prescription for amendments is always an additional order and cost from the lab report, and may or may not be offered by the soils lab you used.

It’s best not to think in terms of getting the N and K levels down, but instead think of balancing all 16 essential nutrients plus trace minerals that plants need. And soil organic matter content is also an important consideration.

At this point I would wait until spring to do another soil test when the amendments have weathered and been assimilated.

You can use a general purpose complete mineralized fertilizer now as the next best thing to a soil test based Rx. Apply the fertilizer and then a 2 – 3 inch layer of compost mulch.

The Dr Earth All Purpose on this page is a good one:
