Q.Something popping up in my lawn

I have something that grows in my lawn every year, photo attached, that looks like thick grass. Eventually, if I leave it alone, it will flower as shown in the photo. I’m curious as to what this is and is it hurting my lawn in any way. This particular item is growing near a flower garden. Any help in identifying this would be appreciated. Thank you in advance for your reply to this question.
