Q.Something On My Crape Myrtle Tree?

Zone 32656 | gidget1070 added on October 6, 2021 | Answered

Hi. This is on a crape myrtle and it hasn’t been blooming and looking pretty unhealthy. Can anyone tell me what it is and how-if you can treat it? Thank-you

The picture is fuzzy so it is hard to say. I tried to enlarge but that did not help much. Perhaps aphids, mealybugs or a powdery mildew infestation. Your best bet may be to cut a small branch and put it in a sealed transparent plastic baggie that you can take to your local plant nursery for identification. Once you know what it is, you can apply appropriate counter measures.
