Something is eating the leaves on my gladiolus. Chopping off about 4 inches from ground. Not insect damage. What could it be?

I tried setting the foliage and a generous amount of cayenne. Whoever was munching LOVED it!

This appears to be eaten by an animal; rabbit possibly.
