Q.Some Of My Corn Did Not Tassel But Instead Grew Out Looking Like The Picture Below.
Corn was an earlysweet variety. About 3/4 of the planting has come up as normal cornstalks but the rest look like the attached pictures. Although the plants were close together, they got plenty of water and the weather was hot but not unusually so. We have grown corn for many years and this was something we haven’t seen before. Is it possible that we got some sorghum seed mixed in with the corn seed?

That would be Millet! This is unfortunate, but you could harvest this crop, as well. These collections of articles will help:
