What type/kind of grass do professionals use in planting sod to get that dark green color?

It is really a combination of several factors that allows them to get that dark color. First, they use a complete fertilizer, that has all of the macro and micro nutrients. Second, the plants have plenty of light (no shade). Third, they make sure that the plants gets plenty of water but does not drown in the water. Essentially, that deep green color is a result of super healthy plants.
